Strengthening Our 2026 Training Programme – Building Confidence Beyond Compliance

Delivering high-quality supported living requires more than meeting minimum standards. It requires a workforce that understands legislation, applies best practice, and feels confident making decisions in complex situations.

As part of our 2026 strategy, Salis Care has strengthened its training framework with a clear focus on applied learning.

Our priorities include:

Basic Life Support
Delivered face-to-face by a respected local provider, ensuring hands-on emergency response practice rather than theory alone.

Medication Training
Senior leaders are completing accredited Train The Trainer qualifications to enable consistent, high-quality medication training delivered internally across services.

Breakaway and De-escalation
Our team remain in date following July 2025 training. We are reviewing best practice models to ensure our approach continues to prioritise least restrictive interventions and safe practice.

Oliver McGowan Tier 2 Training
We are exploring suitable providers to deliver high-quality, interactive training in this important area.

Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
To strengthen practical understanding, leadership will complete Train The Trainer accreditation and provide bespoke sessions that focus on applying MCA and DoLS principles confidently in day-to-day care.

Training at Salis Care is embedded into supervision, observation, and competency assessment. It is not a one-off event. It is part of a structured approach to building a resilient, knowledgeable workforce.

When staff feel confident in their knowledge, the quality of support improves. When quality improves, outcomes improve.

This is the foundation we continue to build throughout 2026.
