Jon Milne is the Head of Care at Salis Care, overseeing the delivery of care quality and governance processes to ensure compliance and provide assurance to all relevant stakeholders. He plays a key role in maintaining and improving the organisation’s adherence to regulatory frameworks, driving continuous improvements and ensuring the highest standards of care.
In his day-to-day role, Jon implements new systems and processes in line with evolving local and national developments, striving to keep the service at the forefront of best practice in adult social care. He is also responsible for business development and growth, identifying opportunities for new services that allow individuals to remain within their local communities, prevent crises, and reduce unnecessary hospital admissions.
With an extensive background in learning disabilities and autism transformation, Jon has worked across various settings, including supported living and NHS service improvement, bringing a wealth of experience to his leadership role at Salis Care.
Danielle King is a Registered Manager with extensive experience across residential care, domiciliary services, and NHS settings, overseeing operational delivery, governance and compliance to ensure high quality, safe and effective care. She plays a key role in stabilising and improving services, driving workforce development, strengthening regulatory adherence and providing assurance to stakeholders through robust performance management and reporting.
In her day to day role, Danielle leads on safeguarding, policy development and the implementation of governance frameworks, ensuring services consistently meet and exceed CQC standards. She is highly skilled in transforming underperforming services, having successfully eliminated agency dependency, rebuilt team culture, improved occupancy and delivered sustainable financial performance through strong operational leadership.
With a career that has progressed from frontline care roles into senior leadership, Danielle brings a well-rounded and practical understanding of the sector. Her background spans learning disabilities, dementia, acquired brain injury and complex care, enabling her to lead multidisciplinary teams effectively while maintaining a strong focus on personcentred care, continuous improvement and positive outcomes for the individuals she supports.
Stephen Unsworth is the Head of Commissioning at Salis Care. In this role, he supports the expansion of our services, working closely with commissioning teams to strengthen partnerships, enhance strategic relationships and identify new opportunities. He leads on the commissioning and design of new services, ensuring they are responsive, sustainable, and aligned to local need, while maintaining a strong focus on quality and value.
Originally qualifying as a Registered Nurse, and then completing his degree in Business Studies, Stephen began his career in the NHS before moving into the independent sector. He later transitioned into private equity, contributing to a number of successful “buy, build, exit” projects and developing extensive experience in strategic growth and organisational development. Stephen has also worked closely with local authorities on transformation and modernisation programmes, including supporting the development of local authority trading companies and holding a Senior Commissioning Officer role within a London Borough.
He subsequently served for six years as Director of Operations for a local authority trading company and has held Managing Director and Main Board Director roles across four organisations, including leading a large domiciliary care business.
Dr Atif Ghaffar is the Medical Director of Salis Care and supports our clients with his decades of experience in the healthcare sector. He has experience working within the NHS and as a private GP, covering all aspects of primary and acute care. As a GP Principal for 16 years and an experienced CQC Lead – Dr Ghaffar provides invaluable support and guidance particularly to our clients looking to start bespoke GP services. As the former Medical Director at CQC Compliance Limited, Dr Ghaffar understands the fundamental importance of healthcare compliance and the need for primary and acute organisations to be forward-thinking in ensuring they are CQC-ready.
Michelle Fairless is the Deputy Manager at Salis Care, where she leads on proactive Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), ensuring all practices align with the latest industry standards and best practices. In her daily role, Michelle embeds the learning from incidents and safeguarding alerts, continuously improving care and risk management processes to enhance outcomes for service users.
As the primary point of contact for team engagement, Michelle provides ongoing support, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment where staff are empowered to thrive. She ensures that care plans and risk assessments are consistently used to promote positive outcomes, helping individuals to live active, fulfilling lives within supported living settings.
With over 14 years of experience in working with individuals with learning disabilities and autism, Michelle is a subject matter expert in complex needs and challenging behaviours, and has a strong background as a PBS Coach and Intensive Interaction Coordinator.
