A Positive Start to 2026 – Jon Milne, Head of Care

Happy New Year from everyone at Salis Care. We are excited for the year ahead as we continue to develop our staff team, strengthen relationships with local authorities, and most importantly, deliver an exceptional level of care across our supported living services in Reading.

This week has been focused on supporting a new individual to move into one of our supported living homes. Transitions into supported living can be a significant step, particularly where people are moving from other settings or require urgent support. As always, our priority has been to ensure the move was safe, well-planned, and person-centred.

Working closely with local professionals, we ensured that the move was managed smoothly and that the right support was in place from the outset. Our staff team supported the individual with reassurance, structure, and consistency – making sure they felt welcomed and settled from day one.

It has been encouraging to see the positive culture within the home, with the other tenants offering a warm welcome and creating a supportive environment. This sense of community is a huge part of what makes supported living successful – helping people feel safe, included, and empowered to build confidence and routine in their home.

We have also continued to develop strong engagement with local mental health partners. As these relationships strengthen, we anticipate an increase in referral activity, allowing us to continue supporting individuals through meaningful, stable transitions into supported living.

I want to thank the team for their excellent work this week. This is exactly the standard of care and professionalism we will continue to build upon throughout 2026.
